Beautiful photos of the melting ice and snow Ginny.

In Alaska, after eight months of cold and darkness there is a season between Winter and Spring. We called it Break-up. The time when a winter's worth of snow melts reveling all the dirt and trash underneath. Also while I lived there we had three different volcanic eruptions so some years there was also volcanic ash to make the melting snow even dirtier.

Your melt is far more beautiful than break-up.

We had quite a meltdown here on Thursday. We can now see the ground in places. There's still some snow from the piles where I cleared the driveway, but it is supposed to be even warmer on Friday. I'm delighted.

Break Up sounds like a good name for this time of year, Eek on volcanic eruptions, don't want to be around those.
