All Creatures Great & Small

Willeys is our local soft serve ice-cream stand. They know that dogs love ice-cream. So they sell a bowl of ice-cream with a dog biscuit in it. Lots of people bring their dogs along with them. Here are a few enjoying their ice-cream on a hot day. This one got served even before his masters did!

Even the little birds don't get left out. They fly down and eat the spilled sprinkles off the pavement.

“The whole congregation of believers was united as one—one heart, one mind! They didn’t even claim ownership of their own possessions. No one said, “That’s mine; you can’t have it.” They shared everything.

Carnival Time!

Last week, we took the girls to a local carnival! They loved the rides.

And they weren't EVER scared...well, maybe just a little.

They threw darts at balloons.

They won balls.

And when the carnival is closing and everyone is exhausted, there is nothing like getting into a sticky situation with cotton candy!

“Ride majestically! Ride triumphantly! Ride on the side of truth! Ride for the righteous meek!”

Running Woman

Running Woman is made from cable and tree branches. She is running so fast that her long hair is blowing behind her.

“…but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.”

Lipstick Lady

I saw this sweet bird in a pet store and just had to show you! Maybe a type of Lovebird? She has her makeup on and is ready for a date!

“I used to wear a lot of red lipstick, and when I got a pimple, I'd cover it up with eyeliner to turn it into a beauty mark.”

Sunday Beauties

We passed these flowers the other day; I think they are Peonies. I love the color!

For the beauty of the earth,
For the beauty of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies,
Lord of all, to thee we raise
This our grateful hymn of praise.

The Banners

They hung summer banners in our Town Center parking lot. I thought they were so pretty that I would show you. And I thought shopping couldn't get any more fun!

“On that day, Jesse’s Root will be raised high, posted as a rallying banner for the peoples. The nations will all come to him. His headquarters will be glorious.”

Hats Off!

The other day, Dara was in a play called Hats! Each child had made a hat out of paper, and they were all lined up at the front of the stage. Here are a few.

Here is the group on stage.

They sung about what kind of hats people wore for their jobs. Some of their expressions and hats were comical!

Here is Dara, putting her whole heart into a song.

Here she is afterward wearing the hat she made. They got to take their hat home.

And here is Phil on stage with the girls, wearing the hat. Ha ha! It was a fun night.

“I knew you were sheer grace and mercy, not easily angered, rich in love, and ready at the drop of a hat to turn your plans of punishment into a program of forgiveness!

Full Strawberry Moon

On the evening the Full Strawberry Moon rose, there were no clouds. And of course, we were there! Come watch it rise with us!

“There is something in the flavor and aroma of the fresh strawberry that no amount of skill has been able to preserve.” ~E.F. White

The Tall People Meet Dara & Jazz

We took the grandkids to an acrobatic circus on Saturday. The little ones were the most fascinated with these tall people. They even ran through their legs and high fived them!

“Has anyone by fussing in front of the mirror ever gotten taller by so much as an inch?”
Matthew 6
