Fields Of Gold

Many of the fields here are gold now. They nestle deep down in our mountains, making the valley even more beautiful.

“Paint the wheat fields golden. Creation was made for this! Drench the plowed fields, soak the dirt clods with rainfall as harrow and rake bring her to blossom and fruit.”

Psalm 65

Sitting In The Road

I thought you might want an update on the baby geese. They have really grown! But all the geese have started sitting in the road! They will sit right in the middle of the road. They seem to love it there. Cars have to slow down and honk, and the geese are very slow to move! I wonder why this is?

You can see how much the babies have grown.

And look at this huge one! He is so much bigger than the others! He has started getting his adult feathers. Strange.

As the sun was setting, we left the geese.

“They were so absorbed in their “God projects” that they didn’t notice God right in front of them, like a huge rock in the middle of the road. And so they stumbled into him and went sprawling.”

The Purse & The Rooster

I found a brand new Goodwill this week! As I am addicted a big fan of Goodwill, I was excited! My good blog friend Linda, always posts her Goodwill purchases, so I thought I would too! I got this purse, which looks like new and has lots of pockets. And this rooster basket. The rooster will be pretty in the kitchen. But he is too big for any of my decorative shelves, and I cannot figure out how to use him. I am not very creative. Any thoughts?

“Jesus said, “Don’t be so sure. Today, this very night in fact, before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times.”

A Good Morning

This morning we got up early and went to Jazz's graduation from her first year of pre-school. Back when I was her age, there was no pre-school! After the ceremony, she would not let her diploma out of her sight!

Here we are at the reception afterward.

Since we had not eaten, we headed to Starbucks afterward!

Along with breakfast, we ordered their now octopus cookie. Delicious! The perfect sweet ending to a good morning.

“With the Feast already half over, Jesus showed up in the Temple, teaching. The Jews were impressed, but puzzled: “How does he know so much without being schooled?”

Tailgate Art

I was delighted when we stopped behind this truck at a red light! Tailgate art for sure. I love it!

“I couldn’t believe my eyes: Painted all over the walls were pictures of reptiles and animals and monsters—the whole pantheon of Egyptian gods and goddesses…”

Twirling On Mother's Day

We spent part of the day with our son. Here we are!

What else was going on? The girls were being silly.

Dara had her twirly skirt on and she was twirling. She twirled so fast that I could not capture her, even with a sports setting on my camera!

So you could say that my mind was spinning on Mother's Day. A fun day!

“Their heads were spinning; they couldn’t make head or tail of any of it. They talked back and forth, confused: “What’s going on here?”

Mother's Day 2017

Happy Mother's Day to all of my wonderful blog friends! Here is my mom as a baby.

Here are four generations of mothers. Me, my mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Me & my mom.

The Wait

Come with us as we sit in the waiting room of a garage while they work on our car. It is tiny but nice. And what else was there to do but snap?

There were many retro items there. My favorite was this teal radio.

Remember the G.I. Joe lunch boxes?

They had a poster with all the different Mustangs through the years.

And last but not least, this teeny tiny little cannon.

Oh, and good things always come to those who wait. The mechanic spent about an hour on our car, and didn't charge us at all! It was totally free!

“If I flew on morning’s wings to the far western horizon, You’d find me in a minute— you’re already there waiting!”

Both Sides Now

Tonight we went out to snap the full Flower Moon. But the sky on the other side of the sky was just as pretty after the sun set. Both sides were beautiful. Here is the sun side.

And here is the moon side. Cloudy.

“Has anyone ever seen anything like this— dawn-fresh, moon-lovely, sun-radiant, ravishing as the night sky with its galaxies of stars?”

Crossing The Road

We had to stop for someone crossing the road.

And look who she had with her!

Mom and dad stood guard over the babies while they learned to eat grass.

“What a God! His road stretches straight and smooth. Every God-direction is road-tested. Everyone who runs toward him makes it.”
2 Samuel
