A few weeks ago, I read that on this one night, we could see the dark side of the moon! Now I know that the moon always keeps the same side turned toward us, so I could not figure out how this could be. Turns out it was something about the sun shining on parts of the moon that it usually doesn't. Anyway, fortunately there were not clouds on that night! So here you have it...the dark side of the moon. My very last shot is the normal side for comparison. I can tell a difference.
Here is the side of the moon we always see.
“The people who walked
in darkness have seen a
great light. For those who lived in a land of deep shadows— light!”
Each evening at sunset, hundreds of birds do a dance in the sky. Swirling around and back, they are going to roost for the night. It is startling and beautiful to see. I snapped these on two different nights, as you can see.
Some bright morning
when this life is over, I’ll fly away
To a land on God’s celestial shore, I’ll fly away
When the shadows of
this life have gone, I’ll fly away
Like a bird from these prison walls I’ll fly, I’ll fly away
My followers are so sharp! You were right. This is a dead cornfield. But interwoven between the dead stalks are beautiful morning glories. The dead supporting the living. I was enchanted. So here are the best of my pictures.
Since this is considered to be a scary month, I thought it the right time for this post. There is a woodworker who lives in our area, and he makes coffins. But with a twist. You can buy your own coffin, and use it for furniture until you die. Say, a nice bookcase or curio cabinet. Then when you pass on, your family is spared the sad task of choosing one for you. A news paper had a huge article, with pictures of the coffin/furniture. So that is where my pictures come from. Thoughts?
Did you know there is a difference between a coffin and a casket? A coffin is a box that is tapered, and wider at the shoulder, it has about six sides. A casket is a four sided box.
Then he went over and touched the coffin. The pallbearers stopped. He said, “Young man, I tell you:
Get up.” The dead son sat up and began talking. Jesus presented him to his
Anne Marie had her first school dance! She is in the sixth grade now, and it was a Halloween costume dance. SO, she and her friends dug out their mom's old outfits from the 60's, and second generation hippies were born! Groovy, man!
The Hippies did have some good ideals, especially about peace and love. They just took the love part a bit too literally and publicly!
Were you ever a hippie? Did you ever want to be a hippie?
“Think in harmony. Be agreeable.
Do all that, and the God of love and peace will be with you for sure.”
